Linklaters named "Americas Law Firm of the Year" for Second Consecutive Year in GlobalCapital’s 2021 Derivatives Awards
Linklaters has been named the “Americas Law Firm of the Year—Overall” by international capital markets news service GlobalCapital for its Americas Derivatives Awards. The award was announced May 26, 2021, and marks the second consecutive year the firm has been honored.
The awards recognize the institutions and innovations that have influenced the global derivatives market throughout the year. Each award was judged according to the nominees’ innovations in product and service commitments to new markets, improvements in efficiency, liquidity and market stability, as well as client guidance.
Linklaters’ commitment to delivering efficient technology solutions to the derivatives industry can be seen through ISDA Create, an online solution, which has been built by Linklaters' internal technology start-up Nakhoda in partnership with ISDA, and allows users to produce and agree documentation completely online, as well as enables the capture of valuable structured legal data. Most recently, the partnership rolled out the ISDA Clause Library, which provides standardized drafting options for certain provisions within the ISDA Master Agreement.
The inclusion of the ISDA Master Agreement and ISDA Clause Library on ISDA Create is part of an initiative to standardize and digitize legal documentation, and to enable that data to flow directly and consistently through to trading, operational and risk management systems.
“To be named ‘Americas Law Firm of the Year—Overall’ for the second consecutive year by GlobalCapital is a testament to the hard-work and dedication of the entire derivatives team at Linklaters,” said Doug Donahue, a Finance Partner at Linklaters. “It is an honor that our efforts are being recognized today, but our work to bring expert legal advice and advanced solutions to our clients and the industry has only just begun.”
Regulatory changes and technological advances in recent years, like ISDA Create, have allowed Linklaters’ derivatives practice to thrive and display its ability to provide innovative solutions for its clients and the industry.
