Linklaters and JUSTICE announce new Fellowship positions for graduates
Linklaters and JUSTICE have announced their new Fellowship programme for law graduates, welcoming, in particular, applications from Black and minority ethnic candidates, including those from socio-economically less advantaged backgrounds.
The successful applicants will be part of JUSTICE’s legal team, working alongside JUSTICE lawyers and working parties of its members and other experts on landmark reports on critical issues of law reform. They will also gain experience of briefing Parliamentarians and other critical stakeholders on proposed legislation.
The Fellowships will provide an opportunity to develop research and drafting skills, engage with litigation and law-making processes, policy makers and senior members of the legal profession. In addition, the Fellowships will provide opportunities to receive coaching and advice from Linklaters.
Applications open on 8 April 2022, and close on 8 May 2022. Each fellowship will be for a period of for six months, on a full-time basis although this is flexible and can also be offered part-time over a longer time frame with a minimum of three days a week.
JUSTICE’s Chief Executive, Fiona Rutherford, said:
“JUSTICE’s early careers programme is one we are hugely proud of, having continued to offer paid internships throughout the pandemic. We are thrilled to be working with our corporate members Linklaters on this new Fellowship. These positions provide an opportunity to work with us on all our work, from our upcoming working parties to briefing Parliament. We look forward to welcoming two aspiring lawyers to the JUSTICE team.”
Owen Clay, Global Pro Bono Partner at Linklaters, commented:
“We are delighted to be working with JUSTICE again as we continue to partner with purpose for Social Impact – deepening our relationships with organisations advancing racial justice and working together to develop innovative solutions to address the under-representation of young Black and minority ethnic lawyers in the legal sector.”
As part of Linklaters' Race Action Plan the firm renewed its commitment to supporting and increasing Black and minority ethnic representation in the legal profession, including in the law reform space – creating long-term and meaningful social impact.
