Lucy Murphy
Chief Growth Officer, London
Overview
For the past two decades, Lucy has been a member of the Executive Committee at three global law firms. In these roles, she has been instrumental in reorienting the organisational strategy towards client-centricity. Her broad scope of responsibilities in two of these positions includes leading corporate strategy, reputation management, corporate communications, government relations, and product development. Lucy has successfully identified and implemented operational, financial, and infrastructure improvements to achieve strategic goals.
Lucy is renowned as an outcomes-based leader with extensive experience in designing and leading transformations in complex and ambiguous environments across multiple markets. Successfully delivering transformational projects in this domain demands exceptional leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. In recognition of her capabilities, she was named one of Europe's most transformational leaders in professional services in 2019 and one of the world's most influential leaders in the field in April 2023. These accolades affirm her ability to motivate and guide diverse teams in demanding environments while consistently achieving organisational strategic goals.
Lucy's dedication to helping others extends beyond her professional life. She is a non-executive director of IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) and sits on the board of many charities. She was an active member of the Freshfields Stephen Lawrence Foundation, working to improve the lives of disadvantaged young black boys by highlighting the importance of education in realising their dreams. When a former colleague's daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and given only weeks to live, Lucy led a social media campaign that raised £400,000 in six weeks to fund her life-saving treatment in the United States.
