Overview

Chiara is a Managing Associate in the banking department, specialising in asset and trade finance. 

Chiara joined Linklaters in April 2019, after having worked in the shipping finance team at Stephenson Harwood and trained at Ince. In 2023 she was seconded to JPMorgan where she worked with their Export & Agency Finance team on several ECA-backed project and asset financings. 

Chiara has experience in advising both financiers and borrowers on borrowing base facilities for suppliers and distributors of energy products and agricultural commodities. Chiara has also extensive experience in international shipping finance and general corporate finance.

Chiara's most recent experience includes:

Asset finance – shipping

  • Shipping containers: advising one of the world’s largest purchaser and lessor of refrigerated containers on a JOLCO financing in relation to a pool of marine containers.
  • The Hapag Lloyd AG Group: advising the group on the financing of new build LNG FSRUs.
  • Shipping portfolio lenders: advising lenders in connection with sale/acquisition of shipping performing and non-performing loans.

Trade finance

  • Sunrise Foods International Inc: advising the group agricultural commodities trader on the financing arrangements for its group, including a borrowing base facility with various European and Canadian lenders. 
  • Varo: advising the agent and syndicate of lenders on the borrowing base facilities for the Varo Energy Group.
  • Greenergy: advising the syndicate of banks on a US$930m borrowing base facility agreement for Greenergy Fuels Limited.

Education and qualifications

Chiara holds a degree in European Law from Maastricht University and has obtained a GDL and LPC from the University of Law in London. She is an Italian native speaker.
