Overview
Qualified in Sweden, Ina is a Partner in our global Antitrust & Foreign Investment practice, based in Brussels. She heads Linklaters Brussels State aid practice and co-leads the firm’s cross-office Foreign Subsidies efforts.
Ina has a wide range of experience across advisory, investigatory and transactional aspects of Antitrust & Foreign Investment law in the EU and Sweden, including merger control investigations and abuse of dominance cases. She is currently advising a number of global companies and investment funds with navigating the issues raised by the FSR. Ina also has significant expertise in State aid, and has recently assisted clients with appeals to the EU General Court against Commission decisions on alleged tax sweeteners.
Ina advises companies and private equity firms across a wide range of sectors, including energy, tech and pharmaceuticals.
In 2018, Ina went on secondment to the firm’s London office.
Work highlights
Ina’s recent experience includes advising:
- Government of an EU Member State: Securing the European Commission’s authorisation of pandemic-era aid, and on various appeals of this decision in the EU General Court
- Takeda on its £46bn acquisition of Irish drug maker Shire, the largest ever outbound M&A deal by a Japanese company
- A multi-national defence, security and aerospace company on its appeal to the EU General Court of the Commission’s State aid decision on the UK’s CFC rules
- Several clients: on FSR notifications, as well as on developing a tailored FSR methodology and setting up internal processes for information gathering
- GrandVision on its acquisition of eyewear retail chain Smarteyes, cleared unconditionally after a detailed Phase II review
- Scripps in relation to its $14.6bn acquisition by Discovery
- Linde on its merger with Praxair
- Various clients in the healthcare and private equity sectors in relation to the CMA’s excessive pricing and conduct investigations
