A number of important political elections are taking place across Africa in 2017 which are likely to impact our clients and the work they do across the continent. We have worked closely with our best friend firms to provide insights into the potential effect of these elections on key business areas in their respective jurisdictions.

In the second instalment, we explore with law firm Geni & Kebe, the potential effect of the election in Senegal, due to take place in July, on key areas of economic activity in the country. Depending on whether the current leadership remains or changes, policy changes could impact Senegal’s technology, infrastructure and energy sectors, its framework on public-private partnerships and, potentially, the size of Senegal’s export markets.
