The Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) principles which have already permeated the real estate sector are set to take centre stage for the foreseeable future. The sands of time have well and truly shifted the regulatory environment within which real estate investors now find themselves. No longer can lip service be paid to satisfying these core principles which investors find themselves grappling with and which now require serious consideration both when making real estate investment decisions as well as when operating premises which the real estate market may be more familiar with.
