Singapore’s Environmental Risk Management Guidelines

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) has issued Guidelines on Environmental Risk Management (“Guidelines”) tailored to banks, asset managers and insurers (collectively “FIs”). 

Although the Guidelines largely mirror the framework set out in the consultation papers, it should be noted that the MAS has extended the transition period and introduced certain milestones to its implementation timeline. In this alert we set out the expected implementation approach as well as an overview of the Guidelines as they apply to FIs and their activities.
