Elias Gurewitsch

Elias represents fund sponsors and investors regarding the formation and operation of domestic and international private investment funds across diverse strategies. He provides advice regarding all aspects of the fundraising process, including preparing offering and governing documents, forming onshore and offshore investment structures and negotiating with investors. Elias also has experience with institutional investors and regularly advises clients on market terms of investment funds. Additionally, Elias advises fund sponsors on day-to-day operational, regulatory and compliance matters, and deals regularly with issues relating to the Securities Act, the Investment Company Act, the Investment Advisers Act and ERISA.

Elias has represented a diverse group of asset managers and institutional investors, including, among others: Ardian, Barings, Blackstone, CBRE Global Investors, Davidson Kempner, Partners Group, AIG Asset Management, Centerbridge Partners, Parella Weinberg Partners, DRA Advisors, DuPont Capital Management, Amber Capital Investment Management, Harbert Management Corporation, GE Asset Management (now State Street Global Advisors), Hemisfério Sul Investimentos, LCN Capital Partners, and Westport Capital Partners.

Elias is a recipient of the 2023 Cornerstone Awards by Lawyers Alliance for New York, which recognizes individual lawyers for their outstanding pro bono service to nonprofits throughout the year. 

Elias holds a Juris Doctorate from New York University School of Law and received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh. He is qualified to practice in New York.
