Overview

Emeric is an associate in our Paris office and member of the Financial Regulation Group. He advises French, EU and foreign financial institutions on a wide range of French financial regulation matters.

Work highlights

ACPR contentious matters:

  • in 2024/2025, a French payment institution throughout an ACPR enforcement action in relation to their segregation of client funds*; and
  • in 2023/2024, a French retail bank throughout an enforcement action taken by the French regulator ACPR in relation to AML-CFT matters (i.e., disciplinary proceeding no.2023-01)*.

Regulatory transactions:

  • in 2024/2025, BNP Paribas on their acquisition of AXA Investment Paris;
  • in 2024, Cinven on the acquisition of Finaxy Group*;
  • in 2024, Aon on the acquisition of Delta Assurances and Baloo*;
  • in 2024, General Atlantic on a minority investment in Partners Capital Investment Group*;
  • in 2023/2024, Antin-backed Idex on a €1.712 billion financing*;
  • in 2023, UBS on the acquisition of Credit Suisse*;
  • in 2023, Blackstone Tactical Opportunities in its equity financing of Groupe Premium*;

  • in 2023, Charterhouse Capital Partners on the acquisition of a qualifying holding in France Valley (a French management company specialised in forestry and real assets)*;
  • in 2022/2023, AnaCap-backed Milleis Banque on its combination with the French private bank Cholet Dupont-Oudart to become the 3rd largest independent French wealth manager*; and
  • in 2022, VINCI Airports SAS in the acquisition of an indirect minority controlling interest in a Mexican publicly traded corporation that maintains and develops 13 airports (Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V.) from Fintech Holdings Inc*.

Advisory matters:

  • investment management advisory, including: advice in relation to the marketing of foreign UCITS and AIFs in France, investment management agreements, financial advisory agreements, distribution agreements or agreements concerning delegation of financial management for funds; and
  • advising leading global banks on regulatory implementation projects including MiFID 2, PSD 2 and AMLD.

Education and qualifications

Graduated from the Sorbonne Law School (Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne) with a Master degree in business law (Master 2 Droit des affaires - class of 2021) and a Master degree in financial law (Master 2 Droit financier - class of 2020).
