Linklaters advises Investec Bank on a first-of-its-kind capital solution with Ares

Linklaters has advised Investec Bank plc, a leading international financial services provider, on an innovative and bespoke capital solution arrangement with Ares Management Alternative Credit funds.

The innovative funding structure is believed to be the first of its kind in the fund finance market. Investec is one of the few specialist mid-market private equity lenders, and this bespoke solution provides its Fund Finance team with access to the capital and experience of a leading alternative investment manager in Ares.

The solution will also help serve the increasing demand for subscription line facilities across the mid-market and provide Investec Fund Solutions clients with additional funding, as well as providing the team with additional capital to continue expanding lending capacity across key markets, primarily in the UK, Continental Europe and the US.

Alex Shopov and John McCallion commented:

"We are delighted to have advised Investec on this pioneering capital solution. The innovative structure not only signifies a noteworthy advancement in the fund solutions sector but also highlights Investec's commitment to developing optimal means to support their clients’ growth in partnership with leading alternative investment managers. Advising on this platform underscores our leadership in innovative capital solutions, facilitating broader access to capital for this sector."

The Linklaters team was led by Structured Debt partner Alex Shopov, alongside managing associate John McCallion and associate Victoria Munt.
