Overview

Lawyer for more than 16 years, Carole is partner in the Restructuring and Insolvency practice of Linklaters in Paris. 

She specialises in complex domestic and cross-border restructurings both in the framework of out-of-court and formal insolvency proceedings, where she advises all types of stakeholders (management, shareholders, creditors and purchasers of assets and business). 

Her practice covers all aspects of financial and operational restructurings, including insolvency-related litigations, which enables her to offer full assistance to her clients through the whole spectrum of restructuring and insolvency processes.

Work highlights

Carole's most notable transactions include advising:

  • Montagu: advising as part of the restructuring of the Aqualung group (world leader in diving equipment).
  • Lecta, a European paper group: advising the group as part of its global financial and operational restructuring.
  • BNYM, acting notably as general security agent, which holds the parallel debt: advising as part of the safeguard proceedings opened in respect of Jaccar Holdings, the holding company of the Bourbon group.
  • European Bank for Reconstruction and Development: advising as part of the amicable restructuring of the Figeac Group through a sanctioned conciliation agreement.
  • KKR: advising as part of the global restructuring of Famar, a European pharmaceutical group, as well as part of the safeguard proceedings of Comexposium.
  • CGG: advising in the context of its financial and operational restructuring and its negotiation and implementation in various restructuring processes, including French safeguard proceedings and US chapter 11 proceedings (more than €3bn of indebtedness).

Professional experience

Carole started as an associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP in 2007.

She joined Linklaters in 2009, where she became a counsel in 2018 and a partner in 2021.

Education and qualifications

Carole graduated from the Paris law school (Ecole de Formation du Barreau) in 2007. She is also a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and of the top ranked business school HEC (Major in "International Legal and Tax Strategy"). 

She holds a postgraduate diploma (D.E.S.S. Droit et Fiscalité internationale) from Université Panthéon Assas-Paris II.

As part of her studies, she spent a year as an exchange student at University of California, Santa Barbara.

She speaks French and English fluently.
