Overview
Dominic is the founder of the firm’s Moscow office and is widely regarded as one of Russia’s most knowledgeable and experienced corporate lawyers. He has unrivalled experience, knowledge and technical expertise in Russia, the CIS, CEE, Turkey and a number of other emerging markets, advising companies and investment banks on M&A, reorganisations, joint ventures and equity financings.
Dominic was based in Russia for 17 years and played a central role in many of Russia’s key transactions after the collapse of the Soviet Union, from law-writing initiatives and the mass privatisation programme of the early 1990s to advising on the Russian Federation’s triumphant return to the eurobond market in 1996; helping clients navigate through the 1998 financial crisis, working through the M&A boom years that followed and assisting many global investment banks establish their subsidiaries in Russia; and then developing relationships with new Russian clients and dealing with the post-2008 and sanctions environment. With his deep experience of the market’s development, Dominic is uniquely placed to help clients find practical solutions in the complicated legal environment with which clients are invariably confronted.
Education
Dominic studied law at the University of Bristol.
