Overview
Andrew is a partner in the firm’s financial sponsors practice. He advises private equity houses, investment managers, family offices and other financial sponsor clients on all forms of leveraged M&A, distressed and event-driven transactions, co-investments, restructurings, disposals and portfolio company matters.
Work highlights
Transactions of note where involvement can be disclosed include advising:
- The Carlyle Group on a number of mandates, including the take-private acquisition of Harwood Wealth Management Group, the acquisition of Calastone, the acquisitions of Barbon Insurance and PIB Group (and their combination under PIB Group) and the sale of PIB Group to Apax Partners
- Jacobs Holding on the £2bn acquisition of Cognita, a global private schools group, from Bregal Investments and KKR
- Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets and its portfolio company, Wheelabrator Technologies Inc., on the sale of Wheelabrator’s UK waste-to-energy business to First Sentier Investors
- Sellers (including Strategic Value Partners) on the c. £1.6bn sale of Cory Riverside Energy to a consortium led by Dalmore Capital
- Arcus Infrastructure on the £1.1bn sale of a 65% stake in Forth Ports to PSP
- PSP on a number of mandates, including the recapitalisation, refinancing and investment by Allianz Real Estate in the Chapter UK student accommodation platform, the €2.6bn acquisition of CeramTec from Cinven, the sale of Wind Energy Transmission Texas to Axium Infrastructure and its participation in a consortium established to acquire 22-24 Bishopsgate, London
- Rhône Capital on its acquisition of Eden Springs; Eden Springs on its acquisition of Nestle Waters’ home and office delivery business in 5 jurisdictions; Rhône Capital on the sale of Eden Springs to Cott Corporation
