Overview

Begoña advises on domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including leverage finance, investment grade, real estate financings, structured lending and energy and infra financings. She has broad expertise in refinancing and restructuring deals, with special experience in Spanish schemes of arrangement (homologación judicial). In addition, she can also turn her hand to securitisation, capital markets, private equity (PE) and M&A transactions, when required.

Begoña advises both borrowers and lenders, national and international, including corporates, PE firms, direct lending entities and banks.

Work highlights

Begoña has led or advised on many market-leading deals. These include advising:

  • Pemberton on the financing granted to A&M Capital Europe-backed Ayesa’s refinancing and its acquisition of Ibermática.
  • Ares Management on the financing granted to Archimed for the acquisition of Suanfarma.
  • Vauban and Predica on the financing for the acquisition of 45 per cent of the shares of Bluevia from Telefónica.
  • the lenders on the financing for the takeover bid over MasMovil and Euskaltel by KKR, Cinven and Providence.
  • Tendam (a CVC and PAI portfolio company) on the solvent refinancing of its financial debt through a high yield bond issuance and bank debt financing.
  • CVC and the company on the restructuring of the debt of Grupo Lecta.
  • Avalon on the financing for the development of two blocks of affordable housing in Madrid.

Professional experience

Begoña delivers master classes in financing transactions and security structuring at the Comillas Pontifical University. She has also lectured on finance in the Valencia courts under a training programme for judges and lawyers. 

Education and qualifications

Begoña studied law and business administration at the Comillas Pontifical University.

She speaks Spanish and English.
