Jens specialises in international and European tax law. He advises on tax questions in connection with M&A and private equity transactions and tax-oriented restructurings of businesses, as well as on contingent tax matters.
Jens represents clients in all courts, including before German Tax Tribunals (Finanzgericht) and the European Court of Justice, on tax-related disputes.
Jens also has substantial experience in advising major financial institutions in relation to large tax compliance matters, including tax criminal investigations.

Jens provides ongoing tax advice to Nintendo, Philip Morris Group, BP Europe, Roland Berger Strategy Group, Adam Opel, Deutsche Bank and other German banks and other enterprises on various questions of company taxation.

Jens is a member of various tax committees and organisations, is the author of articles included in many professional publications and regularly speaks at seminars.
Jens lectures at the Georg-August-University in Göttingen, for which he was awarded an honorary professorship.
Education and qualifications
Jens holds a master’s degree in tax law as well as a doctorate in economic science from the University of Hamburg.
He speaks German and English.
