Overview
Nicki is the national managing partner of the firm’s Luxembourg office. He is also a partner of the Luxembourg capital markets and banking group since April 2006.
Nicki practises in capital markets as well as in banking and finance matters.
His banking practice covers credit and security taking, bilateral and syndicated lending, margin loans, fund financing, acquisition finance as well as restructuring and insolvency matters.
Nicki’s capital markets practice focuses on debt instruments. Nicki has specialist expertise in derivatives products, securitisations, repackagings, fiduciary structures and generally all types of debt securities issues. He also advises regularly on prospectus, market abuse and transparency obligation laws, EMIR and other regulatory matters in the capital markets space.
Work Highlights
Nicki has been involved on many important finance transactions. These include advising:
- Nestlé Holdings, Inc, Nestlé Finance International Ltd and Nestlé S.A.: advising the multinational food and drink company on their Debt Issuance Programme and the issue by Nestlé Finance International Ltd. of €650m Series 110. 0.875% Notes due 14 June 2041 guaranteed by Nestlé S.A. thereunder.
- An investment bank: advising on the investment in the most senior class of notes on the securitisation of Austrian law vehicle lease receivables through a Luxembourg securitisation SPV with the financing documentation being governed by German law.
- A global firm active in commercial real estate services and investment: advising on its issue of Green Bonds and on a connected hunting-line facility.
- A leading bank as lender on a Luxembourg law governed €150m margin loan to a French company, backed and secured on a securities portfolio held in accounts in Luxembourg and other European countries.
Professional experience
Education
Nicki studied for a degree in law at the University of Luxembourg and has Masters degrees from the University of Paris and Cambridge University.
He speaks English, French, German and Luxembourgish.
