Overview
Young is an associate in the Tax group at Linklaters, representing financial institutions, investment funds, and institutional investors on U.S. tax issues. Young has experience on a wide variety of domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity offerings, and fund investments.
Prior to joining Linklaters, Young gained extensive tax experience at a tax advisory firm where he advised corporations and high-net-worth individuals on U.S. federal and international tax matters, including corporate mergers and acquisitions, international tax structuring and compliance.
Experience highlights
- UK Private Equity Client: advised on a US$322 million acquisition of a US real property in Florida including tax deal structuring and assessing federal tax considerations.
- Sovereign Wealth Fund: advised in participating in a US-based investment fund including tax reviews of fund documents and negotiating tax side letter provisions in relation to the Limited Partner Agreement.
- US Venture Capital Firm: drafted a tax memorandum regarding an establishment of a European-based cybersecurity investment platform by a Spanish bank and a US private equity firm.
Education and qualifications
Young holds a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law. Young obtained his undergraduate degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
