Linklaters advises Montagu on the acquisition of Maritime Intelligence from Informa
Linklaters has advised Montagu Private Equity on the acquisition of Maritime Intelligence from Informa Plc. Maritime Intelligence, commonly known as Lloyd’s List Intelligence. Maritime Intelligence is a leading provider of maritime data and intelligence, widely used across the shipping ecosystem, extending to the finance, legal, academic, insurance, and government sectors.
The acquisition complements Montagu’s impressive suite of knowledge-led and technology-enabled businesses already in their portfolio. The deal will also allow Maritime Intelligence to continue its delivery of innovative maritime analytics for customers.
The Linklaters team was led by corporate partners Alex Woodward and Daniel Law. They were supported by managing associates, Ben Suen and Matt O’Connor, and associates Claudia Greig and Ling Wei Ngew. The Linklaters corporate team worked closely alongside TMT partner Marly Didizian who was supported by Tatum Govender and Maxine Vercoe. As Linklaters is a leading multi-disciplinary firm, the Linklaters service on this complex carve out transaction included deal critical advice from experts in the areas of intellectual property (Yohan Liyanage and Tegan Camm), employment (Simon-Kerr Davis, Rachel Morgan and Bethany Parker), tax (Jamie Coomber and Klara Janiec), anti-trust and foreign investment (Neil Hoolihan and Ariti Skarpa) and pensions (Marcus Kealey).
This deal continues Linklaters’ track record of executing complex carve-out transactions for private equity clients and is the most recent transaction signed for Montagu, most recently advising them on their acquisition of Emerging Portfolio Funds Research (also from Informa Plc.), and acquisition of Miraclon and Janes' Information Group.
