Linklaters advises Intel on the sale of its NAND flash memory and SSD business to SK hynix
Linklaters advised Intel on the completion of the second phase of the sale of its NAND flash memory and SSD business to SK hynix, marking the official completion of the entire transaction.
The transaction was signed at the end of 2020, with the first phase closing on 29 December 2021, during which Intel sold its SSD business and the assets of its NAND flash manufacturing plant in Dalian, China. In the second phase, Intel sold its NAND memory technology and manufacturing business, including employees located at the Dalian factory. The consideration received by Intel at the second closing of the transaction was approximately US$1.9bn.
Linklaters and its China joint operation partner Zhao Sheng Law Firm were actively involved in every stage of the overall transaction. The Linklaters team was led by corporate partner John Xu and antitrust & foreign investment partner Fay Zhou, supported by Zhao Sheng Law Firm partners Wendy Chen, Arthur Peng and Ellen Zhang, and managing associates Martin Zhou and Dylan Wu.
