Overview
António is an Associate in the Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations department in Lisbon. He focuses on commercial disputes, having advised companies, financial institutions and public sector entities across sectors such as banking, construction, energy, healthcare, mining, private equity, technology, and telecommunications.
António provides advice in a broad spectrum of domestic and international disputes. These include commercial disputes arising from cross-border procurement or construction contracts, corporate law disputes in between shareholders, directors, and companies, as well as M&A disputes involving earn-out clauses, breaches of representations and warranties, and price adjustments. He is also experienced in collective redress, particularly class actions relating to competition law breaches. António has acted as counsel in international and domestic commercial arbitrations (ICC, Lisbon Commercial Arbitration Centre, ad hoc) and in arbitration-related court proceedings, including the recognition, enforcement, and setting aside of arbitral awards.
He furthermore represents or advises clients in litigation proceedings before Portuguese state courts and in Portuguese-speaking jurisdictions, notably Angola and Mozambique.

António joined Linklaters Lisbon in 2025 as an Associate in its Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations department.
He started his legal career in 2018 at the local law firm VdA, initially as a Trainee Lawyer in the Investigations & White-Collar and Banking & Finance practice areas. After 2021, he became an Associate in the Litigation & Arbitration practice.
António participated in the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot for the University of Lisbon (2017-2018) and has since remained as coach of the team, helping them reach the round of 64 out of 370 teams in 2021 (first time in history), 2023, and 2024.
Education and qualifications
António holds a Law Degree from the University of Lisbon (2018) and an LL.M. in Corporate Law from the University of Edinburgh (2022).
He is a fully qualified Member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2021.
António speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.
