Ashika Baan

Ashika is a Managing Associate in the Corporate/M&A practice at Linklaters' Amsterdam office. She specialises in corporate law, with a particular emphasis on cross-border (public) M&A, private equity, and restructurings. Within Corporate/M&A, Ashika has a keen interest in the healthcare sector. Ashika brings a wealth of experience in navigating complex private M&A transactions and takes pride in collaborating closely with clients and advisors to successfully complete deals.

Work highlights

Ashika has advised on the following noteworthy transactions: 

• Unilever PLC: advising on the €4.5bn sale of the world's leading tea business, a portfolio of thirty-four leading brands, eleven factories and three tea estates in Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania to CVC Capital Partners.
• Curetis N.V.: advising on its merger with OpGen Inc., a NASDAQ listed biotech company.
• CJ Corporation: advising on the acquisition of shares in the capital of Batavia Biosciences B.V., a company engaged in the development and production of viral vectors, vaccines, proteins and antibodies.
• Just Eat plc: advising on its £9bn recommended all-share combination with Takeaway.com N.V.
• Triton Advisers (Sweden) AB: advising on the acquisition of Hofmeester Groep B.V., a dental distribution company.
• Essent: advising on the acquisition of a majority stake in the Solar Concept group by way of the acquisition of shares in E4A B.V. The Target Group is active in the field of solar panels installation and services in a B2C context.
  
   

Ashika actively contributes to several of the firm’s DE&I initiatives and participates in two legal networks that aim to further participation of bicultural lawyers in the legal industry.

• One of the world's leading pension plans: advising on its acquisition of a c. 35% interest in a Swedish online presence solutions provider.
• Triton Advisers (Sweden) AB: advising on the acquisition of American Dental Trading B.V., a Dental Depot that offers its products and services exclusively to dental professionals in the Benelux, Germany, Austria and France.
• TDR Capital LLP: advising on the €4.25bn sale of Modulaire, a leading infrastructure services company specializing in modular services, to Brookfield Business Partners.
• Denso International Europe B.V.: advising on its acquisition of 60% of the shares in the Certhon group, making Denso a 100% shareholder of the Certhon group.
• Cummins Inc.: advising on the (ongoing) acquisition of two plants operating in the exhaust aftertreatment business by way of a combined share and asset deal and following a complex carve-out.
  
   

Ashika holds a corporate law LLM degree from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Ashika obtained her undergraduate LLB degree in European Law from Maastricht University.
