Overview

Bonnie is a Senior Associate in Linklaters’ Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations practice in New York.  Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation.

Bonnie served as a law clerk to the Hon. Reena Raggi of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and to the Hon. Paul G. Gardephe of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Following her clerkships and prior to joining the firm, Bonnie was a litigation associate at a New York City law firm.

Bonnie's experience includes advising.

  • Major pharmaceutical company: representing as plaintiff asserting claims for tortious interference with contract and deceptive trade practices, arising out of the alleged misappropriation of patient assistance funds.
  • Business process management company: representing in Lanham Act litigation.
  • Supplier of semiconductor chips: representing in a supply chain dispute, securing dismissal of all claims.
  • Orthopaedic device company: representing as defendant/counterclaimant in contract dispute with distributor, securing judgment for company on all claims and counterclaims at arbitration.*
  • Iraqi nationals: represented, pro bono, Iraqi nationals who were detained and abused at the Abu Ghraib prison during the Iraq War, securing a landmark US$42 million verdict at trial against private contractor.*
  • Defendant: represented at sentencing and on appeal in criminal prosecution arising from alleged “pump and dump” scheme.*

Professional experience

Bonnie maintains an active pro bono practice.  Her representations have included:

  • Iraqi nationals: represented Iraqi nationals who were detained and abused at the Abu Ghraib prison during the Iraq War, securing a landmark US$42 million verdict at trial against private contractor.
  • Plaintiff: representing in a Section 1983 action for malicious prosecution arising from criminal charge that remained pending for 17 years despite prosecutors’ admission that they lacked probable cause to indict.  The litigation resulted in a favorable settlement.
  • Nursing home residents: representing in class action asserting constitutional and statutory violations in the administration of state program meant to help individuals with disabilities and senior citizens avoid nursing home placement or move from nursing homes back to the community. The litigation resulted in a favorable settlement, including systemic program changes.

Education and qualifications

Bonnie obtained her Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, where she was a Coker Fellow in Constitutional Law and a member of the San Francisco Affirmative Litigation Clinic.  She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University (magna cum laude), graduating Phi Beta Kappa.

Prior to law school, Bonnie was a Financial Intelligence Analyst in the Major Economic Crimes Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office.  In connection with her work on a joint state-federal prosecution of a major international bank, she was a 2014 recipient of the Assistant Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service.
