Florentine Braun-Lorenz has been with the firm as Rechtsanwältin since 2005.
From 2005 to 2019, she worked in Andreas Steck's team in the Financial Regulatory Group, since 2008 as Managing Associate. In this role, she advised numerous international banks and financial service providers on banking, investment and securities regulatory law issues as well as on money laundering law.
In 2010, she took on the additional role of the Risk Lawyer Germany. Since then she has been advising the firm in relation to professional and money laundering law issues.
Since 2020, Florentine Braun-Lorenz has worked mainly for the Legal & Risk division. In this role, Florentine Braun-Lorenz, together with the Risk Partner Germany, is responsible for all risk and compliance matters affecting the firm in Germany.
In this function, Florentine Braun-Lorenz advises the firm on all regulatory and professional law issues affecting the firm and its individual professionals. These include, in particular, advice in connection with conflicts of interest checks before accepting a mandate and in relation to lateral hires, advice on obligations under money laundering law, the drafting of internal guidelines and codes, dealing with insider lists and advice on insurance law issues in connection with lawyers' professional liability. She regularly organises training events on these topics for professionals and the business services teams.
Education and qualifications
Florentine Braun-Lorenz studied law at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and the University of Lausanne (Switzerland).
During her studies, she completed an internship of several months at the United Nations in Geneva.
At the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, she took part in the additional study programme "Project Japan Studies", which she successfully completed.
In 2002, she passed her 1st state examination in law, after which she completed her legal clerkship (Rechtsreferendariat) at the Regional Court of Mainz and passed her 2nd state examination in law in 2004. She was admitted to the bar in Frankfurt am Main in 2005.
