Overview

Following 15 years’ experience in the Luxembourg employment market, Marie joined Linklaters in October 2023 as Luxembourg’s Head of Employment.

She brings specialist expertise in Mergers & Acquisitions along with extensive professional experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Marie advises on all aspects of employment law from drafting and terminating contracts to cross-border issues, collective bargaining, social audits and remuneration and incentive plans. 

Other areas of expertise include collective and individual dismissals, implementation of codes of conduct and internal policies. Marie also represents employers in a wide range of employment law disputes.

Work highlights

Marie's most notable transactions include:

  • A multinational financial services company: advising on the acquisition of digital insurance companies, including legal due diligence and identifying material employment law issues at the target companies.
  • A global investment manager: advising on the planned reshuffling of their employment structure through implementing a Global Employment Contract (GEC) for Luxembourg employees.
  • A fund management company: advising on employment implications of selling a Munich-based real estate fund manager group, including employee movements in Luxembourg and France, destination options, transfer methods, and information and consultation requirements. 
  • A Belgium-based financial services company: advising on the significant restructuring of a leading global digital fund distribution platform operating across multiple countries, including EU and non-EU jurisdictions. Guidance focused on employment-related aspects amid evolving restructuring options and adherence to a pre-established social plan.
  • A specialised fixed income investment manager: advising on remuneration policy, implementing a remuneration committee, and the payout process, including deferral of payments, payment in instruments, and clawback provisions.

Education and qualifications

Marie holds a Master’s degree in International Business Law from the University of Nancy.

She is fluent in French, English and German.

Marie is admitted to the Luxembourg Bar.
