Overview
Simone specialises in intellectual property litigation, both in enforcing intellectual property rights and defending clients against allegations of infringement. The focus of her work is on patent disputes. She is also active in trademark, copyright and competition law and advises on transactions involving intellectual property.
Work highlights
- Seoul Semiconductor: representing in and advising on several matters, including defending in a patent infringement lawsuit brought by a competitor concerning LEDs for displays and mobile applications and an enforcement campaign at the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
- Carrier Global Corporation: advising on the acquisition of Viessmann Climate Solutions, including various license agreements in the acquisition structure.
- Leading manufacturer of connected devices: representing in negotiations with a major pool for standard essential patents in one of the first fields of licensing SEPs for the Internet of Things.
- Leading manufacturer of consumer electronics: representing against greenwashing allegations raised by an NGO in relation to advertising statements on the carbon neutrality of a key product.
- Operator of a content sharing website: representing against claims for trademark infringement in relation to the operation of an online platform.
Professional experience
Simone joined Linklaters as an Associate in 2022.
During her legal traineeship, she worked in the legal department of a global chemical and pharmaceutical company.
She is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (GRUR) and the Frankfurt Bar Association.
Education and qualifications
Simone studied law at the University of Frankfurt and the University of Trieste (Italy). Simone is admitted as a German lawyer.
She speaks German and English.
