Overview
Suzanna specialises in derivatives and structured products with particular emphasis on OTC derivatives. She has over 18 years of post-qualification experience in a broad range of complex transactional, advisory and project-based matters working with both financial institutions, corporates and buy-side firms across multiple jurisdictions.
Her practice covers all derivatives asset classes including documentation of vanilla and bespoke transactions under market standard derivatives and repurchase/stock lending documentation including the ISDA Master Agreement and all ISDA documentation, GMSLA and GMRA, EMTA and FIA documentation and regulatory advice related to those transactions.
Suzanna has particular experience in equity financings structured using derivatives, structured repos and stock loans, particularly collateral upgrade transactions, as well as structured OTC credit derivatives.
Suzanna has led numerous industry working groups working on high-profile projects including the recently completed 2021 ISDA Interest Rate Derivatives Definitions and multiple documentation initiatives addressing interest rate reform.
Professional experience
Suzanna has acted as counsel for ISDA on Brexit, the 2021 ISDA Interest Rate Derivatives Definitions, the ISDA Collateral Agreement Interest Rate Definitions, the IBOR fallbacks and other interest rate reform initiatives, the EU Benchmarks Regulation, COVID-19 related documentation initiatives, electronic signatures and more recently on market initiatives related to events in Russia.
Suzanna is a regular speaker at ISDA conferences.
Education and qualifications
Suzanna holds a M.A. (Cantab) in Law from Cambridge University and a Legal Diploma in Law from Nottingham.
Suzanna is fluent in French and English.
