The FCA's latest Consumer Duty messaging is a classic setup for later interventions and enforcement action. In the FCA's new price and value good practice note, it identifies some pointed concerns about firms' value assessments. Its payments firms’ implementation review found that in all likelihood a substantial minority of firms are not Consumer Duty compliant.
