Hong Kong Monetary Authority Proposes Climate Risk Management Supervisory Expectations for Banks

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has issued a consultation on its proposed supervisory expectations for climate risk management. The proposed expectations are set out in a new module as part of the Supervisory Policy Manual, GS-1 Climate Risk Management. The consultation on the HKMA’s supervisory expectations was promised as part of the second of its three phases in promoting green and sustainable banking.
