FRC calls for more outcomes-based reporting by large private companies

The Financial Reporting Council has published a report by the University of Essex on the quality of corporate governance reporting in 2021/22 by private companies that follow the Wates Principles. The report shows that companies struggle with defining company purpose, connecting that purpose to strategy, culture and values, and explaining how stakeholder engagement affects board decision-making.
