Overview

Alessandro is currently counsel in LAI Linklaters. Alessandro represents Italian and international companies before courts and arbitral tribunals, as well as in cross-border litigation. He has a broad experience in corporate/shareholders disputes, post M&A disputes, banking and financial services litigations, securities litigation, R&I disputes, insurance, real estate, commercial and consumer disputes. He also covers compliance, sanctions related advice and corporate investigations.

Before joining Linklaters he was a Partner at Studio Legale Associato Shearman & Sterling LLP where back in 2015 he launched and headed the litigation and arbitration practice in Italy until April 2024.
Alessandro has been recognized by Chambers Global 2019 and 2020 as a “very proactive and knowledgeable” lawyer but also ranked by Chamber Europe 2019 and 2020; clients praise him for his “fantastic arguments” in Court.

 

Professional experience

Alessandro set up and launched the litigation and arbitration department at the law firm Shearman & Sterling LLP in 2015. He has gained solid experience in the areas of corporate, commercial, banking, and financial law. Specifically, he deals with liability actions against directors and statutory auditors, challenges to shareholders' and board resolutions, disputes concerning shareholders' agreements, investment agreements and joint ventures, disputes concerning warranties in the context of acquisition, disputes over real estate JVs and development projects, litigation concerning investment services, sale of derivative products, institutional disputes, disputes relating to distribution agreements, agency, procurement, bankruptcy litigation and insolvency proceedings, investigations -White-Collar Crimes, he also gained experience in internal corporate investigations and sanctions, Criminal/231, M&A matter.

Education and qualifications

Alessandro graduated in Law at University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, in Milan, magna cum laude. He was an Academic Visitor at University of Oxford and he holds a Ph.D in Banking and Financial Law at University of Siena, Faculty of Economics Richard M. Goodwin.
