Overview
Gaëlle is a patent litigator with specialized expertise in the healthcare, chemicals and industrials sectors. Her strategic advice draws from her prior experience as an examiner at the European Patent Office, as well as a qualified French and European Patent attorney.
Gaëlle has a strong expertise in cross-border disputes, designing and implementing litigation strategies thoroughly informed by her background in physics, chemistry and biology.
She is ranked amongst France’s best patent lawyers by Legal 500, IAM Patent and IP Stars.
Work highlights
Previous experience includes:
- Seoul Semiconductor: advising in multiple proceedings before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
- Sanofi and Regeneron: advising in the defence of a cross-border patent infringement case against Amgen relating to a therapeutic monoclonal antibody.
- Global medical device company: advising in preparation for anticipated patent wars on several continents, coordinating defensive and counteroffensive strategies.
- ViiV Healthcare: advising in global patent enforcement against Gilead over an HIV integrase inhibitor.
- Multiple clients: advising on the interplay of patent and competition laws in collaboration with Linklaters’ antitrust practice.
- A US research institution: advising on the defence of a portfolio of 10 biotech patents in EPO oppositions against multiple opponents, as part of a pan European, multi-firm team of patent attorneys and solicitors, including liaising with US firms in connection with related proceedings (prior to joining Linklaters).
Professional experience
Gaëlle is an active member of Intellectual Property associations AIPPI (co-head of the French patent committee, member of the international standing committee on patents) and APEB. She is a regular speaker at international IP conferences.
In 2023, she was distinguished as one of twelve “Women in Science” under the patronage of the City of Paris for the 140th anniversary of her engineering alma mater, ESPCI Paris – PSL.
Prior to joining Linklaters, Gaëlle was a partner with one of the top patent attorney firms in France.
