Overview
Laurent joined Linklaters’ Capital Markets & Banking practice in August 2017.
He advises clients, including corporates, sponsors and financial institutions, on all types of capital markets and banking matters. Laurent is in particular regularly involved in asset finance transactions (aviation, shipping and other equipment), in Luxembourg or on a cross-office basis, as a member of the London-lead asset finance practice, in real estate finance transactions and in restructuring and insolvency matters.
Work highlights
- Pools of banks on sovereign bond issues by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, namely (i) the issue in September 2020 of €1.5bn 0.0% Sustainability Bonds due 2032, the first sovereign sustainability issue in Europe and (ii) a dual tranche issue in March 2023 for an aggregate amount of €3bn, the largest bond issue by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
- A large Luxembourg bank: advising on the structuring and implementation of an innovative leasing platform for IT equipment assets.
- A joint venture between a Belgian and a Luxembourg real estate developer, in relation to the financing of multiple commercial and residential real estate projects located in the “Ban de Gasperich / Cloche d’Or” area of Luxembourg-City.
Education and qualifications
Laurent holds a Master’s degree in International Taxation from the University of Paris 2 Panthéon Assas in partnership with HEC Paris (with honours) and a Master’s degree in Law and Financial Engineering from the University of Lyon 3 Jean Moulin (with honours). He holds as well a Bachelor’s degree in Law awarded both from the University of Toulouse 1 Capitole and the University Jean-François Champollion in Albi, France (with honours, top of the class).
Laurent was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in 2018.
