After a three-year break, the Global Female Leaders' Summit took place in Berlin from 8 to 10 May. Our female partners and counsels exchanged views with numerous international leaders on current economic challenges and business trends.
More than 50 international speakers offered insights into a wide range of areas - including Marika Auramo, COO SAP SE, Dr. Melinda Crane, Chief Correspondent Deutsche Welle TV USA/Germany, Saori Dubourg, BASF Member of Executive Board, Pia Heidenmark Cook, IKEA Board Member, Angie Gifford, Meta Vice President Europe and many other top-class executives. In addition to representatives from organisations such as Microsoft, SAP, IKEA, Polestart etc., various NGOs, banks and politicians, Julia Schönbohm, Jördis Heckt-Harbeck and Julia Grothaus (all Frankfurt), as well as Jana Hager (Berlin), Claudia Schneider (Düsseldorf), Martina Farkas (Hamburg) and Kerstin Wilhelm (Munich) took part in the event.

The think tank led by Julia Schönbohm on the topic of CRISPR/Cas9 led to an inspiring exchange. With the help of this technology, DNA can be specifically cut and thus modified. The participants discussed in which form such genetic scissors should be permitted or prohibited. In addition, possible applications were presented - for example, to counteract food shortages or to cure genetically indicated diseases such as sickle cell anaemia.
