Linklaters assists Vodafone Group as antitrust advisor on the sale of Vodafone Italia to Swisscom

Linklaters has assisted as antitrust advisor Vodafone Group on its sale of 100% of Vodafone Italia to Swisscom. After receiving clearance from the European Commission under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation on 24 September, the transaction was cleared by the Italian Competition Authority on 20 December and closing took place on 31 December.

The transaction is valued at €8 billion. Swisscom intends to integrate Vodafone Italy with its subsidiary Fastweb to create, in the company's words, "a leading convergent operator in Italy".

The Linklaters Antitrust and Foreign Investment team advising on the transaction was led by partner Annamaria Mangiaracina, supported by partner Ina Lunneryd, managing associate Stefano Baldi and associates Karolis Pocius and Enrico Salmini Sturli.
