Overview

Ari advises clients on domestic and cross-border capital raising to finance their growth and originations through a range of structured credit and securitized products across a wide variety of industries and assets.

He has particular focus on renewable energy assets and projects (including residential and industrial solar), auto loans, leases, aviation assets, trade receivables and certain esoteric assets such as cryptocurrencies. He also advises on the warehousing, structuring and ongoing management of asset-backed financing facilities.

Representing key players throughout the financing lifecycle, Ari advises operating companies, issuers, sponsors, asset managers, arranging banks, borrowers, lenders, and investors. He provides strategic counsel to deal teams, structurers and legal units on all matters with respect to negotiation, execution, securities laws, regulatory matters and commercial issues, including advice on exempt securities offerings under Rule 144A, Regulation S and Regulation D private placements, the Volcker Rule and other SEC rules, as well as risk retention compliance and financing.

Ari’s broad experience advising different parties across structured credit and securitized products enables him to create technical and practical solutions to guide transactions across almost any roadblock. He prides himself on his ability to provide straightforward commercial advice and accurate assessments of companies, people, structures, deal economics and pathways to optimal outcomes for his clients.

  • U.S. Department of Energy (DOE): advising on a first-of-its-kind securitization program established by Sunnova Energy International, which utilized a partial indirect DOE guarantee to finance residential home energy management systems. The transaction was recognized as ESG Securitization Deal of the Year and Esoteric ABS Deal of the Year at the Global Capital U.S. Securitization Awards 2024.*
  • A leading investment firm: advising in connection with the establishment and issuances under a securitized lending structure backed by renewable energy assets.*

Education and qualifications

Ari holds a Master of Laws in Law, Technology & Entrepreneurship from Cornell Law School. He obtained a Master of Science in Law & Finance from Queen Mary University of London and earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Thrace.
