Overview

Chris is an English law-qualified managing associate working in Linklaters’ Corporate Trust and Agency and Capital Markets practices. As part of the Corporate Trust and Agency team, Chris specialises in advising corporate trustees, agents and other specialist service providers on a wide variety of Capital Markets, Banking and Projects transactions. As part of the Capital Markets team, Chris focusses on debt capital market transactions, including programmes, standalone issuances, liability management, commercial paper and regulatory capital.

Chris worked in the firm’s London office for seven years before moving across to the Amsterdam office in 2021. 

Work highlights
  • Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A. – advising (i) the dealers in respect of the EUR 160 billion Global Medium Term Note Program of Coöperatieve Rabobank U.A. (“Rabobank”) and the manager(s) in respect of drawdowns under the Program and (ii) the Joint Lead Managers on Rabobank’s EUR 1,000,000,000 and EUR 750,000,000 Additional Tier 1 capital issuances in 2022 and 2021
  • Covid Corporate Financing Facility (CCFF) – coordinating the London debt capital market’s team’s response to the Bank of England’s announcement of the CCFF in March 2020, including the creation of simplified streamlined documentation (used on over 50 CCFF programmes), to facilitate and accelerate access to Covid-related liquidity support for larger UK companies
  • Repack programmes – advising the trustee and agents on a number of the major repack programmes in the market (including SPIRE, Kairos, Argentum and Corsair)
  • ETP programmes – advising the trustee on the exchange-traded product programmes of CoinShares Digital Securities, 21Shares, Hashdex, HanETF, Archax and Global X
  • Eastern European Eurobond debt issuances – advising the trustee and agents on a number of “firsts” in jurisdictions in the Eastern European bond market, including (i) Moldova’s first ever international Eurobond issuance (TransOil), (ii) Belarus’ first corporate Eurobond issuance (Eurotorg) and (iii) Uzbekistan’s first bank Eurobond issuance (Uzpromstroybank)
  • Nordea Bank Abp – advising the dealers in respect of Nordea Bank Abp’s Global Medium Term Note programme and Euro Medium Term Note programme and the manager(s) in respect of drawdowns under these programmes
 

Professional experience

Chris attends the trustee sub-committee of the ICMSA and The Association of Corporate Trustees (TACT) and represents the firm at industry conferences such as Global ABS.

Education and qualifications

Chris has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Law.
