As the deadline for extending the Brexit transition period has passed, 31 December 2020 is confirmed as the date the UK will leave the EU’s single market and customs union. After the UK completes its transition out of the EU, the regulatory and economic outlook for the UK will depend on legal, political and global considerations, with the shock of the Coronavirus pandemic providing an added level of uncertainty. This note looks at some of the key issues for businesses.
