Linklaters shows its support for the Centre Pompidou by sponsoring the exhibition "Paris Noir"
Artistic Movements and Anti-Colonial Struggles, 1950–2000
Linklaters is partnering with the Centre Pompidou as a patron, supporting the "Paris Noir" exhibition, which will be held from 19 March to 30 June 2025, just before the site's closure.
The exhibition "Paris Noir"
The exhibition traces the presence and influence of black artists in France between the 1950s and 2000, highlighting 150 Afro-descendant artists, from Africa to the Americas, including many works which are being displayed in France for the first time. Visitors will be immersed in a cosmopolitan Paris, vibrating from creativity and resistance, with the emergence of a wide variety of practices ranging from identity awareness to the search for transcultural artistic languages. "Paris Noir," scheduled as the final exhibition before the Centre's five-year closure for renovations, will be a major cultural event.
Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Linklaters Foundation
Through sponsorship of the Helmut Newton retrospective at the Grand Palais in 2012, the Keith Haring exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris in 2013, the retrospective dedicated to Niki de Saint Phalle at the Grand Palais in 2014-2015, the Hergé exhibition at the Grand Palais in 2016, the David Hockney retrospective at the Centre Pompidou in 2017, the Picasso exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay in 2018, and the Nicolas de Staël retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris in 2023, Linklaters has built a lasting legacy of supporting pioneering exhibitions that have marked the cultural landscape in recent years.
This partnership with the Centre Pompidou coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Linklaters Foundation, reinforcing the firm's commitment to the arts.
"Sponsoring the 'Paris Noir' exhibition aligns with our commitment to cultural and social diversity. Initiatives by the firm, such as the Interlinks and Making Links programs, which aim to support talented scholarship students from diverse backgrounds, or our Race Action Plan designed to strengthen minority representation within the firm, demonstrate this proactive approach. Our partnership with 'Paris Noir' offers a tremendous opportunity to embody our actions while celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Foundation," says Anne Wachsmann-Guigon, Partner and President of the Linklaters Company Foundation.
