Overview

Christopher is a restructuring & insolvency partner in Linklaters' New York office. He has significant experience advising key constituents in corporate reorganizations, restructurings and liquidations. He regularly advises administrative agents, lenders, formal and informal committees, debtors, liquidating trustees and other secured and unsecured creditors in complex chapter 11 cases, chapter 15 cases and out-of-court restructurings. He has broad experience advising clients in bankruptcy litigations and other trial work, as well as transactional matters in chapter 11 cases.

Christopher has advised clients in a wide range of domestic and cross-border restructuring matters. Christopher is listed in the 2024 Lawdragon 500 Leading Global Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers Guide and ranked in Euromoney’s Rising Stars 2022 Expert Guide under Restructuring and Insolvency, which recognizes individuals considered by peers and clients to be the best in their respective fields in the legal industry.

  • Vewd Software AS: advising a Morgan Stanley affiliate as prepetition lender, DIP lender and exit lender in the chapter 11 cases.
  • China Aoyuan Group Ltd.: advising the foreign representative on the cross-border restructuring of the China Aoyuan Group’s US$7.3bn offshore debt, the first restructuring implemented through a dual and parallel scheme approach in Asia.
  • McDermott International, Ltd: advising Crédit Agricole CIB, on the successful cross-border restructuring implemented through a UK Restructuring Plan, Dutch WHOAs and chapter 15 cases.
  • Pride Group Holdings Inc.: advising the Company and the foreign representative on its restructuring, including the chapter 15 cases. 
  • Sunac China Holdings Ltd.: advising the ad hoc group of creditors on the US$10.2bn offshore debt restructuring, which is one of the largest restructurings of a Chinese property company.
  • Nordic Aviation Capital: advising an ad hoc group of RCF lenders on an US$800m revolving credit facility in the US$6bn debt restructuring in the chapter 11 cases.
  • Global Brands Group: advising the secured lenders in the Group’s multi-jurisdictional wind-down, implemented through chapter 11 cases, a UK administration, and other insolvency proceedings in Europe and Asia.
  • Chisholm Oil and Gas Operating, LLC: advising Citibank as administrative agent and collateral agent to the RBL lenders on the chapter 11 cases.
  • Trumbull Energy Center: advising the lenders in connection with the security package relating to the €1.1 bn filings financing for the Trumbull Energy Center, a 950MW natural gas-fired electric combined-cycle power generation facility in Ohio.
  • LATAM Airlines Group: advising Santander Bank on the chapter 11 cases.

Education and qualifications

Christopher graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a B.A. and cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law with a Juris Doctor, where he was the Executive Director of the Moot Court Honor Society and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review.
