The New UK Corporate Governance Code: living in a material controls world

In January 2024, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) published a new edition of its UK Corporate Governance Code (2024 Code) to replace the current version (2018 Code). The new Code includes changes relating to material controls, including a requirement for directors to make a declaration of their effectiveness. 

In this article, we look at the context for these changes and how companies should prepare for them.
