Overview
Diogo advises on a wide range of corporate transactions and real estate matters. He has gained much experience of transactions in Angola and Mozambique, particularly in the oil and gas and mining sectors.
Diogo is head of the firm’s Lisbon real estate practice, advising on real estate M&A transactions, asset management, property development and construction agreements.
Diogo spent three months on secondment to Webber Wentzel, with whom Linklaters has an alliance, which provided him with greater insight into the markets of southern Africa.

Diogo has been a leading adviser in many corporate and real estate transactions. The most recent include advising:
- Ocidental Seguros on the acquisition of an 80% interest in two shopping centres in Portugal, GuimarãeShopping and MaiaShopping
- Staples Portugal on the sale and leaseback of a total of 27 retail stores in Portugal to CA Património Crescente - Fundo de Investimento Imobiliário Aberto, an open real estate fund managed by Square Asset Management
- King Street Capital Management on the acquisition of a 90% stake in Palmares - Companhia de Empreendimentos Turísticos de Lagos
- Oitante on the sale of Banif - Banco de Investimento to Bison Capital
- Novo Banco on the sale of a 90% stake in Banco Internacional de Cabo Verde to IIB Group Holdings
- a group of investors on the acquisition of a stake in Brisa Concessão Rodoviária (BCR), the largest toll road operator in Portugal
- The Navigator Company on the development of its new tissue paper mill in Cacia, Portugal
Professional experience
Diogo coordinated the review of the Portuguese translation of FIDIC’s conditions of contract for construction, having provided training in this field to several clients. FIDIC is the International Federation of Consulting Engineers.
Education and qualifications
Diogo studied law and completed a post-graduate course in banking, securities and insurance law at the University of Lisbon.
He speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish and French.
