Overview

Simon has extensive experience advising investment banks and corporate clients on a broad range of public and private debt capital markets products, including standalone debt offerings, private credit, regulatory capital, hybrid bonds and liability management transactions.

Work highlights

Simon has advised on many of the market’s most significant capital markets deals. These include advising:

  • Eesti Energia AS: advising the managers on the €400m perpetual green hybrid bond, the first ever hybrid bond issued in the Baltics and in CEE (excluding real estate) to be offered internationally and listed on the LSE.
  • Air Baltic Corporation AS: advising the bookrunners on the €340m 14.500% secured notes due 2029 pursuant to Rule 144A / Reg S.
  • TAV Airports Holding (TAV Havalimanları Holding): advising the issuer on its debut US$400m 8.500% senior guaranteed notes due 2028.
  • Getir B.V.: advising on series of its fundraisings totalling US$550m, raised in the form of issued convertible loan notes and warrants.
  • Sovereign debt: advising issuers and managers on debt capital market transactions by such issuers as Armenia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia and Uzbekistan.

Professional experience

Simon has worked in the Firm’s London, New York and Moscow offices as well as having been seconded to Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Credit Suisse in New York and Lehman Brothers International (Europe).

He speaks English.

Education and qualifications

Simon studied Economics at Exeter University. He then studied a Postgraduate Diploma in Law at Nottingham Law School, followed by the Legal Practice Course in London.
