Italy ESG GEMS - January 2023

    We start this third year of our ESG GEMs with an update from Bank of Italy. It’s no mystery that central banks are heavily involved in the debate surrounding the integration of ESG risks within the business strategies and risk management systems of supervised entities. In April 2022, Bank of Italy issued its non-binding guidelines concerning supervisory expectations on climate and environmental risks. We focus on a recently published note by Bank of Italy looking at how those guidelines have been applied by some players in the market.
