ESMA kicks off RTS process following EU MiFID II /MiFIR Review

ESMA has issued its first consultation paper reflecting recent amendments to MiFIR following the EU MiFID II / MiFIR Review. The CP covers changes to RTS 2 on non-equity transparency requirements, RTS 23 on reference data reporting and a new RTS covering the “reasonable commercial basis” (RCB) requirements in respect of the provision of market data by venues, APAs, CTPs and SIs. The consultation closes on 28 August, and ESMA will finalise its proposed RTS in time to submit them to the Commission by 29 December 2024.
