Linklaters is advising Carlyle Global Infrastructure Opportunity Fund on its proposed investment into London Southend Airport Company Limited (“LSA”), a company forming part of the London-listed aviation and energy infrastructure group known as Esken Limited (formerly Stobart Group Limited).
The investment is structured as a £125 million senior loan facility, convertible into 29.9999% of the entire issued share capital of LSA which shall increase to 30% upon the receipt of certain regulatory approvals. Completion is conditional on (among other things) Esken Limited completing a documented equity raise and entering into a new working capital facility.
The Linklaters team is being led by Nick Rees, Reza Taylor, John Livesey and John McCallion in London, as well as Wojciech Kobylinski and Szymon Renkiewicz in Warsaw.
