The Ratios Decree in Brussels regarding charging points for electric vehicles

As of 2030, diesel cars will be prohibited in Brussels and petrol, CNG and LPG engines will be excluded as of 2035 and most vehicles driven in Brussels will have to have zero tailpipe emissions. Therefore, the number of electric vehicles in Brussels is expected to rise in the near future.

Building on this expectation, the Brussels-Capital Region enacted, on 29 September 2022, a decree determining the ratios of charging points for car parks, as well as certain additional safety conditions applicable to them (“Ratios Decree”), which entered into force on 13 November 2022.
