Fireworks and Blossom: Preparing for a year of change in Hong Kong competition law enforcement

No sooner had the sparkle of the festive season ended, 2025 arrived with a bang and we have already put our minds to celebrating the Lunar New Year. We expect that like us, you are trying to stick to new year resolutions and define the agenda for the months ahead. The Year of the Snake can often bring wisdom, knowledge and transformation – and we anticipate competition law enforcement in Hong Kong will at least go some way to demonstrating those features. 2024 was a bumper year of activity with intensified enforcement and a string of litigation in landmark cases before the Competition Tribunal. 

As 2025 begins, we share our reflections from the Hong Kong Competition Commission’s enforcement in the past year and provide our insight into how to stay ahead of the curve.
