Linklaters advises Lendlease on its £1.9 billion JV scheme with Birmingham City Council
Linklaters has advised Lendlease, a leading international property and infrastructure group with operations in Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas, on its £1.9 billion joint venture scheme with Birmingham City Council.
The Smithfield Birmingham development has the potential to create over 8,000 new jobs and over 3,000 new homes for the City, as well as opening up wider opportunities for regeneration. The 17 hectares development will anchor an expanded City Centre, helping to accelerate a wider transformation of Birmingham and support long-term economic and social prosperity within the region.
The vision for Smithfield Birmingham is to create a sustainable, green and inclusive place that puts people at the heart of the development.
The Linklaters team advising Lendlease was led by partner Andy Bruce, with counsel Imogen Jones and managing associates Jack Shand and Kate Pearson.
Linklaters previously advised Lendlease on its acquisition and development of Silvertown Quays, located between Canary Wharf and London City Airport and, prior to that, its £2 billion regeneration project in Elephant and Castle, London.
