Overview

Simon writes briefings and thought leadership for clients on various aspects of UK and EU financial regulation, as well as creating innovative knowhow for the Linklaters team. He provides both clients and Linklaters lawyers with interactive training on financial services regulation, including horizon scanning sessions. Simon also hosts Linklaters podcasts on payments regulation and operational resilience.

Simon’s current areas of focus include fintech, payments, operational resilience and the use of AI in financial services. He also tracks changes to the UK’s regulatory framework post-Brexit, including divergence from EU rules. Other areas of interest include the UK’s Senior Managers Regime and safeguarding of client assets.

As part of the Practice Innovation and Efficiency team, Simon drives the take-up of new technology to help Linklaters lawyers deliver the best client service.

He is the co-author of the UK chapter of Global Legal Insights - Banking Regulation 2022, a global comparative guide.
